Nina D. Aguas - Senior Advisor & Co-Founder

Nina is a Philippines citizen, she is widely regarded by the banking industry as a senior leader of many firsts with a 38-year track record of trailblazing and building.

She was the first female Country Business Manager within Citibank's Global Consumer Group. Under her leadership, the multinational bank's Philippine franchise strengthened their sales capabilities, establishing telemarketing and direct sales disciplines that allowed the bank to cross the one million mark in credit cards and secure a market leader position.

Post-Citi, Aguas became MD for Retail and Private Banking, Asia-Pacific for ANZ Group with geographic responsibility for North & North East Asia (Hong Kong, Taiwan, China) and South & South East Asia (Singapore, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand). 

Her broad-based track record has seen Aguas take on both developed and developing markets, effectively growing them despite economic downturns and challenging market forces. With her full range of experience, sharp strategic vision, unique aptitude for risk management and innate ability to manage stakeholders, Aguas has become the consummate example of the Filipina CEO. In August 2012, Aguas came home to take on the role of PBCOM President and CEO before she took up the CEO role of The Insular Life in January 2016. Currently, Nina is the Executive Chairman of The Insular Life, and also a member of Board of Directors of MAPFRE INSULAR Insurance Corp, Philipinas SHELL Petroleum Corp and Union Bank of The Philippines.
